We in Karnataka all try to follow a common mission as given by our ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರಕವಿ Sri Kuvempu Ji (🙏). This poem is taught to all school students.
ಬಾರಿಸು ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಿಂಡಿಮವ
ಬಾರಿಸು ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಿಂಡಿಮವ (Play the drums of Kannada (Spread the mission of Kannada))
ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ಹೃದಯ ಶಿವ (With Lord Shiva being in our heart of Karnataka)
ಸತ್ತಂತಿಹರನು ಬಡಿದೆಚ್ಚರಿಸು (Whoever appears fallen dead tap them and awaken them)
ಕಚ್ಚಾಡುವರನು ಕೂಡಿಸಿ ಒಲಿಸು (whoever is involved in infighting bring them together)
ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯ ಕಿಚ್ಚಿಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣೀರ್ ಸುರಿಸು (Shed tears wherever there is Jealousy)
ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಬಾಳುವ ತೆರದಲಿ ಹರಸು (Let’s Wish and aspire so that all live together.)
ಚೈತ ಶಿವೆತರ ಕೃತಿ ಕೃತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (Let there be auspicious enlightenment in every verse by verse composed)
ಮೂಡಲಿ ಮಂಗಳ ಮತಿ ಮತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ (which leads to welfare bloom in each and every mind)
ಕವಿ ಋಷಿ ಸಂತರ ಆದರ್ಶದಲ್ಲಿ (With Poets, Sages, and Saints as our role models)
ಸರ್ವೋದಯವಾಗಲಿ ಸರ್ವರಲ್ಲಿ (may comprehensive prosperity happen in all).
The last stanza demonstrates the Poet’s wisdom. Knowledge can be enlightening but spread only those that are auspicious which are given as ideals by Poets, Sages, or Saints which will result in Comprehensive Prosperity and Welfare in all.
